Dear Comrade,

            An Emergent Circle Office bearer meeting was held on 13th May’2008 at 1130 hrs. at C.T.O. Union Office to consider and decide some organizational activities. Comrade Gobinda Das, Vice-President presided over the meeting. Circle Office bearers in and around Kolkata were present in the meeting.

            At the outset Circle Union  have expressed their warm greetings to  all District / Branch secretaries in and around Kolkata for their active participation with the members in the rally on 9th May’2008. It is also appreciated that the decisions of conduct Branch / Unit / District meeting w.e.f 10th April to 10th May’2008 were held  at most of the Division on present situation like Price hike / BSNL development / Panchayet election etc. Our next Extended Circle Working Committee meeting will be held on 14th to 15th June’2008 at Coochbehar. A separate Circular on this issue will be circulated later.

            A lunch hour demonstration will be lunched on today the 13th May demanding immediate issuance of order on merger of IDA with basic pay at the call of Joint Forum.

            Membership Verification:- A separate Circular will be issued shortly including organizational matters and our tasks.

            Indefinite Fast w.e.f. 21-05-2008:- United forum calls nationwide programme of Indefinite Fast w.e.f.  21st May’2008 demanding 5 promotion . Accordingly Circle Union has taken a decision in West Bengal Telecom Circle that District Secretaries & Circle Office bearers of the respective Circle will sit on “Indefinite fast” in the office of CGMT W.B. Circle, CGM-ETP & CGM-ETR respectively. Other District Union ( District Secretaries  along with Branch Secretaries ) will sit at their GM/SSA H.Qs. throughout West Bengal Circle including Sikkim. The Administration is adamant on this issue. Therefore serious action will be needed and the programme may continue at least 2-3 days. Therefore organizers should take proper  mental preparation in this struggle. A massive demonstration will be organized at every Branch / District level on 22nd May ‘2008 if the Indefinite fast continue. The District / Branch secretaries are requested to keep contact every day to the Circle Union.

            Mass Demonstration on 16th May 6 P.M. to 6 A.M. of 17th May’2008:- At the call of CGCC W.B.  a demonstration programme on 16th May’2008 from 1800 hrs. to 0600 hrs. of 17th May’2008 ( 12 hours )  against the retrograde recommendation of 6th CPC  will be held at  Metro Channel, Esplanade, Kolkata.

            In view of the above, the minimum quota fixed to the District Union in and around Kolkata to  ensure their maximum effort to join the rally with maximum number of members are mentioned below:-
