Warning Bells.
Will the management wake
up? :- BSNL Management and workers must have serious
introspection about the declining market share of BSNL. The growth of GSM
mobiles in the country has gone up to 26.7 crores in
January 2009. But the position of BSNL is the third with only 4.26 crores. Bharti Airtel leads with 8.83 crores.
The details are given below:
Bharti Airtel : 8.83 crores Vodafone : 6.63 crores
BSNL : 4.26
crores
Idea :
4.00 crores
If the CDMA mobiles provided by Reliance is
taken, BSNL will be in the fourth place. In January 2009 the growth in
percentage basis for GSM was 3.95% for Vodafone, 3.19% for Bharti,
5.27% for Idea and only 3.17% for BSNL. If this ratio continues, Idea may
overtake BSNL.
BSNL has now got more than 2 crores GSM
lines with it for supply according to CMD BSNL. BSNL Management has to adopt
necessary strategy and plans for immediate growth of mobile lines. Workers are
fully prepared to cooperate and complete the targets. We can miss this
opportunity only at our peril.
