MASSIVE CONVENTION OF BSNL WORKERS AT C.T.O. TELECOM INSTITUTE HALL, KOLKATA IN SUPPORT OF

ONE DAY STRIKE ON 12.2.2010 OF CASUAL & CONTRACTUAL LABOURERS

A huge numbers of BSNL Casual & Contractual labourers gathered to-day ie on 28.1.2010 in the Telecom Institute Hall, CTO, Kolkata for a convention in support of one day strike on 12.02.2010 of the Casual and Contractual labourers of BSNL, West Bengal.

The convention was presided over by Com. Saibal Sengupta, President of BSNL Co-ordination Committee, West Bengal Circle. Com Kali Ghosh, Secretary, CITU, West Bengal State was present and delivered his speech. Eminent leaders as Com. Shib Sankar Roy, Convener, 12 July Committee, Com. Pijush Roy, Secretary C.G Coordination Committee and Com Animesh Mitra, Secretary, BSNL Coordination Committee spoke in the convention. More than seven thousand Casual and Contractual labours will take part in the proposed strike as it was stated by Com. Tapash Ghosh, Secretary General , BSNL Casual & Contractual Workers Federation. Com Animesh Mitra, Secretary, BSNL Coordination Committee called upon to all regular employees to take active solidarity action in support of the strike. It was decided from the convention that the regular employees will take part in sit in demonstration on that day in support of the strike in West Bengal. It was also decided a massive rally of BSNL regular and non regular workers will be held and submit a memorandum to the Labour Commissioner on 10^th February’2010.
