The net achievement in wire Line Connections during the month is (- 1, 53, 131). All Telecom Circles/ Districts, except Karnatak (3,971), Bihar (3,395), Orrisa (3,123), Punjab (1930), UP (W) (492), J&K (327), And NE-ll (204), have shown negative achievement in Net wire Line Connections during the month. Jharkhand Telecom Circle has recorded highest reduction i.e. (- 29,339) in wire Line connections during the month of March’2011.

The net achievement of WLL connections during the month is 1,99,194 and total WLL Connections in the month of March’2011 is 55,65,437.

Only MH, TN, RAJ, AP, UP (E), NE-I, ORR, NE-II, WB, Chhattishgarh , Jharkhand, A&N and Bihar Telecom Circles have shown positive achievement in WLL connections during the month. MH Telecom has provided highest number of WLL connections (1,43,435) during the month.

Uttaranchal Telecom Circle has recorded highest reduction i.e ( - 9599 ) in WLL connections during the month.

v Total Mobile connections at the end of March’2011 is 8,62,68,689

v Net achievement during the month of March’2011 in Mobile connections is 13,25,518.

v Total connections (Wireline /WLL/Cellular ) in West Bengal Circle 38,58,457.

v Total connections (Wireline /WLL/Cellular ) throughout India is 11,70,59,031.

v Total Mobile connections in West Bengal Circle as on 31-03-2011 is 29,44,844.

v Total BSNL Mobile connections in India as on 31-03-2011 is 8,62,68,689.
