DHARNA PROGRAMME OF THE BSNL RETIRED OFFICIALS UNDER THE BANNER OF ALL INDIA BSNL DOT PENSIONERS ASSOCIATION

A large number of BSNL retired officials gathered for an agitational programmee at the call of All India BSNL DOT Pensioners Association, New Delhi for the demand of 50% merger of IDA, revision of Pension etc. Also a large number of serving BSNL employees were present in support of their struggle.

Com. Jnanomy Bhttacharjee and Com. Ajit Kumar Nandan jointly presided over the meeting.

Eminent leaders like Com. Dipak Mitra, Com. Bishnu Dutta, Com. Pijush Chakraborty, Com. Prasanta Kumar Nandy spoke in the meeting.

Com. Animesh Mitra, Circle secretary, BSNLEU, WB Circle assured the retired employees that their struggle is our struggle and all the help will be available with them from BSNLEU, WB Circle. He also assured that BSNL DOT Pensioners association will be formed in West Bengal Circle by March, 2010 and there after it will be formed at all District level.

Com. D. Basu, Vice-President, ALL INDIA BSNL DOT Pensioners Association spoke in detail before the gathering. He stated that how the Govt. of India is denying the legitimate claim of the pensioners. He opined that if we could stay united then we could achieve our demand.

A memorandum from the pensioners was submitted to CGMT, West Bengal Circle which was read out by Com. Dipak Mitra.

Similar programmes were also held at Asansol, Burdwan, Siliguri, Bankura, Jalpaiguri, Kharagpur with enthusiasim. Retired officials along with retired BSNL officers were also present in this programme. Com Susanta Ghosh, Vice-President AIBDPA, Com. Mridul Chatterjee, AIBDPA, Com. B.K. Saha, Com. B.R. Ghosh, CORTO and other eminent leaders who also delivers their speech.

Nearly 300 Pensioners were assembled in this agitational programme in West Bengal.
