BSNL WORKERS IN & AROUND KOLKATA STRONGLY OPPOSE
THE ANTI BSNLEU PROPAGANDA OF NFTE-FNTO ALLIANCE
Almost at the flag end of the campaigning programme of the IVth Membership
Verification Comrade Animesh Mitra,
Circle Secretary of BSNL Employees Union, West Bengal Circle along with other
available Circle leaders have visited Five Districts of BSNLEU WB Circle,
situated in and around Kolkata. In all those Five
Districts the Employees joined the programme en mass
and were very eager to hear the speeches of the leaders.
QUALITY ASSUARANCE DISTRICT
The First meeting was held in QA district. The Employees
attached to QA Dist have gathered in numbers. Com. Amitava
Chattopadhyay, Treasurer, BSNLEU
WB Circle gave his inaugural speech. After that
Com Animesh Mitra addressed
the meeting and told the gathering regarding the Govt’s
derogatory policies to weaken BSNL, IPO matters, VRS/CRS to BSNL employees etc.
He also told the workers to keep them alert against anti BSNL policies, anti
BSNL- Worker policies etc. He assured that only BSNLEU can save BSNL and its
workers from these mischief. The employees assured the
leaders that they will vote for BSNLEU in the coming IV MV to save
BSNL as well as to protect the interest of BSNL Employees. Com. Uttam Gope, District Secretary QA
also spoke on the occasion. Com S. Chowdhury, veteran leader of QA District presided over the
meeting.
Circle Telecom Training Centre-CGMT(T)
District.
The second meeting
was conducted by the CGMT (Technical) District leadership at Salt
Lake Training Center.
Com Pradyut Das presided over the meeting. At the
outset Com. Amitava Chattopadhyay
told a huge gathering that none other than BSNL Employees Union
could save the interest of the BSNL workers. He also reiterated that from the
past experience it is observed that the opposition was never in favour of the employees. They are not in the favour of expansion of BSNL industry. Com. Animesh Mitra in his speech
mentioned the global situation, anti-workers
policies of the Govt including IPO, Listing,
exploitation on Casual/Contract Workers, VRS etc. He also appealed to defeat
the opportunist alliance of NFTE BSNL & NUBSNLW (FNTO). Com. Kanchan Mitra, Dist Secy. And Com
K. L. Bhattacharya also spoke a few words in the mammoth gathering of both the
employees attached to CTTC and the Trainees who came from different parts of West Bengal.
CTO & TCO
Districts.
A joint meeting of CTO and TCO District on the eve of IV MV was held at the
historic TI Hall of CTO Kolkata. Com S. Bose presided
over the meeting. Com. Debashis Khan, Dist.
Secretary, CTO District spoke on the occasion. Circle leaders like Comrade Gobinda Das-VP, Comrade S.P.Pande-VP,
Comrade Banani Chattopadhyay-Org.

and Comrade Ranajit Halder
District Secretary TCO were present in the meeting. In his valuable
deliberation Comrade Animesh Mitra,
Circle Secretary told the gathering that there is no alternative but to vote
for BSNL Employees Union in the coming IV MV because for its pro employee
policies, for its continuous struggle to save BSNL. its
strong opposition to VRS CRS etc. He also reminded that when BSNLEU got second
position in the first Membership Verification, it fought for the betterment of
the workers as well as for the BSNL Industry. Com. Mitra also told that BSNLEU
has no intention to occupy the chair it was always for the workers and will be
serving the employees in future also.
CGM (Office) District, Kolkata.
The days ton ended at CGM (Office), Kolkata
where a mammoth gathering took place. Circle leaders Like Comrade Prabir Chatterjee-VP, Comrade Ajit Kumar Nandan-ACS were
present in the meeting Com. Nandan Presided
over the meeting. Comrade Animesh Mitra
in his days last speech told the employees that despite
several anti BSNLEU propaganda by the alliance of NFTE-FNTO the red flag of
BSNL Employees Union will held high in the coming IV
Membership Verification. A good number of employees joined the meeting and they
assured the leaders to vote for BSNLEU on 21st January. Comrade Samir Nandy , District Secretary also spoke in the meeting.
