Sub: Holding of massive dharna on 14^th September 2011 against curtailing of staff facilities/benefits

Sir,

Kindly refer to my earlier letter dated 06-09-2011 regarding protesting against the arbitrary and unjustified decision of the management to curtail/withdraw the existing benefits and facilities like Encashment of leave on LTC, BSNLMRS payment without voucher and freezing of All India LTC.

These are benefits /facilities which are either provided as per the Government of India rules or implemented as per the discussion and agreement with the recognized union/s. While the employees are on a mission to improve the services and strengthen the financial viability of the company and has launched “ Customer Delight Year 2011-12” in this respect, it is unfortunate that the management has resorted to the above arbitrary method which will demotivate the workers.

Protest demonstrations have been held all over India by the various unions on this issue. The JAC in its meeting held on 7^th September reviewed the position. In view of the fact that the management has neither settled the issue nor even replied to our letter nor called us for discussion, the JAC has decided to call upon the workers to organize massive dharnas at SSA/Circle/Corporate Office levels on 14^th September 2011.

The workers are very much agitated and restive on the non-settlement of these issues. Any delay in restoring the facilities may result in further programmes of action.
