Subject:- Abnormal Delay in settlement of long pending demands.

Sir,

Kindly recall the meeting we had with you when you took over as the Chief General Manager, Eastern Telecom Region; you will surely appreciate that in the said meeting we tried to honour your request to postpone the programme of proposed Hunger Strike of the District Union.

Since then we had discussions on a good number of long pending demands in a series of meetings where you assured us to settle them. But it is the unfortunate experience of this Union that all your assurances and commitments have gone in vein causing restiveness in the minds of the members of the staff of Eastern Telecom Region.

In the above background finding no alternative if the ETR District Union takes recourse to the Trade Union Action it will be entirely your responsibility for compelling the Union towards such action.

It will be therefore in all fairness appropriate for you to come forward with a pragmatic approach to honour your earlier assurances and commitments to maintain the harmonious relations in the Industry.
