Dear Comrade,

            An emergent meeting of Circle Office bearers and District Secretaries in and around Kolkata was held on 18th April’08 at 249D, B.B. Ganguly Street, Kolkata-12 at 1400 hrs. Comrade Gobinda Das, Vice-president of the Circle Union presided over the meeting. Comrade Biplab Das, Asstt. Circle Secretary initiated the agenda items i.e. review of organizational programmes against phasing out of ADC, CPSTU programme on 10th , ensure attendance of the employees to Office / Exchanges on 21st April’08 to defeat the miscreants activities by some political parties at the call of 12 July Committee,  Day long Mass dharna at CGMT, W.B.  Office on 25th April, May day observance ,Strike on 7th May’08 at the call of CPSTU.

 

            Nine District  Secretaries & Circle Office bearers in and around Kolkata discussed in the meeting. Comrade Animesh Mitra, Circle Secretary clarified the all issues and some decisions have been taken in the meeting  which are given below:-

 

  1. District / Branch Secretaries should take serious initiative to ensure attendance of the employees on 21st April’2008.

 

  1. Day long Dharna programme on 25th April at CGMT Office:-District / Branch Secretaries should take serious organizational task to ensure maximum number of employees to the day long demonstration programme on 25th April’08 at CGMT Office . They are requested to hold group meetings/ section-wise meeting on the issues with the members immediately up  to 10th May’2008. Circle Union deserves that minimum 600 BSNL employees should join this day long Dharna on 25-04-2008 . The Dharna programme will be organized at O/o the CGMT, W.B. Circle at 1000 hrs. The Dharna Programme will be concluded at 1700 hours. 
  2. May Day observance :-Like previous year May Day will be observed at every exchanges/ offices throughout West Bengal Telecom Circle. On that day District / Branch  Secretaries are requested to observe the day in a befitting manner as our All India Conference held at Mumbai passed an unanimous resolution in this regard. District Secretaries / Circle Office Bearers in and around Kolkata are requested to attend the meeting in the  morning on 1st May’2008 at 1000 hours at our Circle Union Office, 249 D , B.B. Ganguly Street, Kolkata-12.
  3. One day Strike on 7th May’2008:- CPSTU has decided to observe one day Strike on 7th May’2008 throughout India at all PSU establishments. Accordingly, BSNLEU , one of the biggest constituent body of CPSTU served the strike notice on 15th April’2008. District / Branch Secretaries are requested to campaign the demands placed in Strike notice before the BSNL Employees.
  4. Campaign materials :- The campaign materials are published in “ Door Sanchar Karmee”, CHQ / Circle Circulars, Co-ordination Papers, Ganashakti etc. Posters will be published on 7th May Strike shortly.
  5. Comrade Animesh Mitra, circle secretary and National Council Member will attend the Southern Initiative against Globalisation and for Trade Union Rights ( SIGTUR) conference held at Kochi, Kerala from 19th to 23rd April’2008 along with Comrade V.A.N.Nambiidiri, G.S. , P.Abhimanyu, Dy. G.S. and  Murlidharana Nair, AGS, BSNLEU.
