Dear Comrade,

 

At the outset the Circle Union conveys its red salute to all of our members and organizers for making the 3rd Circle Conference a grand success. The Circle Union also conveys its warm greetings and best wishes for new year 2008 to all the members and well wishers.

 

An extended committee meeting of the BSNLEU WB Circle was held with the available Circle Office bears and the District Secretaries in and around Kolkata District Unions at CTO Union office on 7th January’08.  One of the newly elected Vice- president Com. Gobinda Das presided over the meeting . Some important decisions have been taken in the meeting are narrated below.

 

Closing ceremony of the golden jubilee programme  of   CGCC WB

 

(1)   The closing programme of the Golden jubilee celebration of CGCC WB will be held on 20th January’08 at Sahid Minar,  Kolkata in which Sri Buddhadeb Bhattacharyya,  the honorable Chief Minister, Govt.  of WB will address the meeting along with other eminent leaders. District &  Branch Secretaries through out West Bengal are requested to organize campaigning programme from  10.01.2008 to 17.01.2008 and also requested to attend the meeting with maximum number of employees to make the programme all success. The Circle Union has already decided to prepare posters, caps etc for the programme which will be supplied in due time. District Secretaries are requested to inform the Circle Union regarding the numbers of participants in the programme and also requested to take initiative so that a colourful rally can be organized from R.N.Mukherjee Road (opp. Tram Company Office) at 01-00 p.m .

 

(2)   All India Conference :-

The All India Conference of BSNLEU will be held at Muland (West) Mumbai -83 from 13.02.08 to 16.02.2008. As per the direction of CHQ the Circle Union has decided that 60 delegates and 30 observers will attend the conference from WB. The delegate observer fee is fixed at Rs. 400/- . The Conference will be inaugurated by Com. M.K.Pandhe, President, CITU on 13.02.2008. The delegates camp will remain open from 12.02.2008.

  

(3)   All India convention of Casual & Contractual labours of BSNL:

 It is decided that the convention will be held in the month of Marcr’08 at Kolkata . To make the convention all    success it is decided from the 3rd Circle Conference that a sum of Rs, 100/- will be Collected from each employee. District/Branch Secretaries are requested to take all out effort to collect the donations from the members at the earliest and to remit the amount to the Circle Union. The Reception Committee for the All India Convention will be constituted in 3rd week of January and after that the date and venue of the convention will be communicated to all the Circle Unions of India.

 

Some important informations:-

 

a)      the next meeting of the Promotion Committee will be held on 10.01.2008 at New Delhi .

b)      the next meeting of the Standing committee will be held on 11.01.2008 at New Delhi and Wage Committee meeting also will be held on 11-01-2008. It is intimated from CHQ that Management refused to discuss the promotion policy in the Promotion Committee meeting due to present financial position of BSNL. Staff Side members walked out in protest. CHQ directs to hold massive demonstration on 11th January’2008 throughout India at each work spot on protest this attitude of the Management.

c)      An order regarding the posting of the General Managers in different SSAs has already been Circulated. Dist. Secretaries are requested to look into the matter and act accordingly.

d)      The Circle Union has already demanded to publish the result of  TTA (Suppl) Exam. We hope that it will be announced within the month of January’08

e)      The Authority has circulated an order of 45 posts for  officiating JTO for the year 2006 & 2007.

f)        The CGM WB Telecom Circle post and other GM / TDM posts are lying vacant due to transfer. The Circle Union has already took up the matter with CHQ and requested to take appropriate measures so that permanent CGMT and GMs/TDMs of W.B. Telecom Circle be posted at the earliest. GS, BSNLEU(CHQ)  has taken up the case with Dir(HRD) accordingly.
