FDI INCREASE: -The Joint Forum
strongly protested against the decision of the government liberalising
the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) guidelines which will in effect mean
complete removal of FDI cap in telecom, defence,
insurance, aviation, media etc. making it possible for 100% control by foreign
capital. The Government has shown its utter contempt for the Parliament by
issuing the above guidelines on the eve of the Parliament. The Joint Forum
demanded the government to rescind this unwarranted decision immediately.
