Sub: Salient points of the proceedings of the meeting of the Circle body held on 22.05.10

 

Dear Comrades

                       

                        The meeting of the Circle body was held on 22.05.10 at CTO Union office. Com Dipak Mitra presided over the meeting. The following were the agenda.

 

  1. Condolence
  2. Office bearers’ self introduction
  3. To set up an office of the Circle HQ with required facilities and accessories
  4. Progress of the formation of the District Associations
  5. Membership, subscription and Quota
  6. Brief reporting of the AIC of BSNLEU held at Thiruvanthapuram from 12th to 15th May 2010.
  7. Distribution of work load among the office bearers.
  8. Ensuing municipal elections – our views and tasks
  9. Any other item with the permission of the chair

 

Discussions and decisions

  1. The house paid tribute to the departed veteran leader Com Moni Bose along with those who were killed by the extremists and anti working class front and to those who died due to natural calamities.
  2. 12 out of 19 office bearers were present in the meeting and introduced among themselves. Coms Govinda Das and Ajit Nandan were present as coordinators deputed by BSNLEU, WB Circle
  3. The HQ will be set up at KG Bose Smriti Bhavan and in this connection the Trust will be approached for allotment of a room for the office of the HQ.
  4. As intimated by the Circle Secretary 5 Districts have formed their committees. They are Bankura, Suri, Siliguri, Jalpaiguri and Kharagpur. It is decided that the Districts Secretaries of BSNLEU will be requested through Circle Secretary for initiation to form District committees of AIBDPA yet to come up.
  5. The District committees will be asked to make endeavour to enroll membership, collect subscriptions and send quota to the Circle. .
  6. The Circle Secretary who attended the AIC of BSNLEU representing our Association placed the report before the house.

  1. As proposed by the Circle Secretary, Coms Pijush Chakraborty, PK Bose and PK Nandi will make themselves involved in day to day works as he stays away from HQ.
  2. The office bearers opined that we should extend support to the left front with a view to preserving the interest of the working class, to strengthen battle against disinvestment, privatization, attack on pension etc.
  3. It is reported that the authority who suggested to close the file for merger of IDA and revision of pension for the BSNL retirees agreed to send it to the cabinet for a favourable decision. Time schedule is 3 months.
  4. It is decided that BSNLEU WB Circle will be approached for initial financial assistance to start the functioning of the Circle unit.
