Casual/Contractual labouers are on the war path.

An agitional programme was launched on 6^th August’2011 at the call of BSNL Casual Mazdoor Union , West Bengal Telecom Circle throughout the Circle. Earlier Hunger Strike programme was decided on 6^th August’2011. 2 days before CGMT West Bengal Circle requested to the Circle Secretary, BSNLCMU to postpone the programme and he will looked into the problems and necessary settlement will be communicated to the leaders of BSNLEU and BSNLCMU.

After the assurances given by CGMT the Hunger Strike programme has been deferred and agitational programme was organized in the lunch period.

The agitional programme was presided by Com. S.P. Panday and Com. Pankaj Saha. Com. Tarak Kundu, Asstt. Circle Secy. BSNLCMU, Com. Biplab Das, Asstt. Circle Secy, BSNLEU, Com. Tapas Ghosh, Circle Secretary BSNLCMU and Com. Animesh Mitra, Circle Secretary BSNLEU, W.B. Circle narrated the overall situation and the problems of Casual and Contractual laboueres.

In the meeting the slogan was raised “ BSNL Corporate Office Chalo” on 26^th August’2011 to fight for regularization of left out Casual workers , Minimum wage at par the minimum IDA pay, Social security and against the retrenchment of the Casual /Contratual laboueres in the name of fund curtailment etc. .

A delegation from BSNLEU/BSNLCMU under the leadership of Com. Tapas Ghosh met the CGMT W.B. Circle and discussed the demands. After threadbare discussion the following information was narrated below:-

A Wage slip of Left out listed Casual labourers was issued , Reinstated of 3 Contractual workers who were fired from their works and a letter for granted TSM ship of Listed Casual labourers and fill up the Gr-D vacant post by the listed casual labourers was sent to the BSNL C.O. by the CGMT W.B. Circle.

Com. Asis Das, Com. Swapan Chanda, Com. Tarak Kundu, Com. Nemai Das , Com. Kalyan Raha and other leaders were present in the delegation team along with Com. Tapas Ghosh.
